## Today's Picks of the Internet
The last time I wrote a daily piece was [[Day 38 - March 15, 2024]]. And it would be fair to say that in the last (almost) month, I have not read any online article of much value. The times I actually might have read something for work, I probably didn't have the motivation to fire up my system and write about it.
Nevertheless, here I am. Writing again.
#### [A dozen thoughts about AI](https://daverupert.com/2024/02/robo-barf)
Oh the cheek in this piece, Love it!
At a time when everyone seems to be going gaga over the term AI, here are some thoughts that force one to suspend the prevalent "sheep mentality" in society, and think about ... AI.
My favourite bit from the article
> "Eliminating tedious work seems worthwhile. Humans getting to do more of the fun stuff. That famous “augmented work” everyone talks about.
>
> But what is considered tedious? Email? Writing documentation? Blogging? Design? Making music? Hiring? Working with junior developers? How come management never comes up in these conversations? Oof."
And another one
> "AI as a tool to empower humans is admirable, but it doesn’t fix broken systems. If anything it exacerbates any inequalities built into existing systems. We should be careful about what we build and where we deploy any technology, lest we cause actual harm or build new high tech for-profit prisons around ourselves."
#### [Breaking Down Tasks](https://jacobian.org/2024/mar/11/breaking-down-tasks/)
- An example of how you can break down a large project into "tasks"
- A usable definition of a task
- The idea of "sufficient definition" of a task
