So on the days I can, I really live: 30 dying people explain what really matter](https://www.theguardian.com/society/2024/jan/27/advice-from-30-people-who-really-started-living-when-they-found-out-they-were-dying) A poignant piece on how people with few days to live are choosing to lead their lives to the fullest. Some of their advice - **Don't sweat the small stuff** - Don't waste energy fighting - **Having a sense of purpose brings joy** - Prioritise quality over quantity - Share your feelings to accept your state - Find gratitude - Have a goal. Don't accept defeat - Embrace your uniqueness - **No matter how you feel, get up, get dressed, and get out** - It is what it is - You come first - Keep things simple - **Success, status, reputation - they are not important** All the bits in **bold** are points I have traditionally not cared much for. Mainly because, these are points that are quite opposite to the highly driven, ambitious, consumeristic goals I have nurtured in myself since a young age. I still am as ambitious, however over the past couple of years I have started to realise my ambition lacks purpose. And sans purpose, motivation is hard to come by. And sans motivation, it becomes hard to perform consistently. And without consistent performance, it is impossible to attain one's goals. Therefore, I personally might give these more thought now. --- #### Like what you see? Would you like to support me? Easy!
